Introduction

This course - and the book - came about because I used to feel exactly how you might be feeling today: stuck, lost, bored, knowing there was more to life but unsure where to even begin.

I dreamed of living in my perfect home, working in a way that felt effortless instead of stressful, and earning more than enough for everything I wanted and needed. But without a clear strategy, those dreams just left me feeling even more frustrated and disheartened.

Then it hit me - I was the answer. No one else was going to change my life for me. I had to stop moping and actually do something. So, I trained in every method I now share in this course, applying them bit by bit. And today? I’m living the life I always wanted, with even more plans unfolding as I write this.

This course is designed to be simple and doable. You read a section of the book, then work through the corresponding module, video, or audio. Take your time, repeat as needed, but most importantly - you’re taking action. And you’re doing it for you.

So, grab some pens, paper, a shiny new notebook, or create a folder on your computer - whatever works for you - and let’s get started on building the life you want (and deserve!).

    Included in this course is a PDF copy of my book 'How To Get Your Shit Together'.  As you work through the modules I will reference pages in the book which are relevant to the module and whether you would be best to read that section first.

    That said, I don't mind one jot if you read the whole book and then do the course!  It is your course, just for you, for your life.  You must do whatever feels right for you.

    Module 1 - Where Are You Now?

    In this first module we are going to take a good, hard look at how your life is right at this moment in time. 

    We are going to have an honest, non-judgemental, but detailed look at every part of your life.  All the bits that are important to you. 

    We’re going to put all the segments of your life down on paper, honestly work through all the pros and cons of how your current life works for you.  Why?  Well we need to know where you are right now so that we can work on getting your shit together and planning for an incredible future!

      Module 2 - What Do You Really Want?

      Have you ever allowed yourself to really think about your future?  To go into the details of what you truly want in your life, just for you.  No censoring to fit in with others or their expectations.  No censoring with 'I will never afford that' or 'I don't deserve it' or other limiting beliefs.

      Well that is exactly what we are about to do; let your imaginations run free and work on a Vision Board for your ideal life.  Whether that is a life you want in 5 years, 5 months or some other timeframe - it is all the same.

        Module 3 - Positive Psychology

        In this module we explore Positive Psychology.  We look at what happiness actually is and ways to change our happiness setpoint - your glass will not just be 'half full' but overflowing.

        We explore gratitude and acceptance. Learn how to improve our emotional resilience.  I share with you the Human Givens Approach and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

          Module 4 - Emotional Intelligence

          Emotional Intelligence is one of the buzz terms in brain training.  Put simply it is being aware of and in control of your emotional reactions.

          We explore it here to help you understand why you think, act and feel the way you do in certain scenarios - but more importantly, how to change those reactions.

          This will really help you moving forwards; you will become aware of when you 'bump up against' parts of you who are holding on to false beliefs.

            Module 5 - Your Brain

            Here we take a look at our neurobiology - albeit in a very simple way.

            We explore the Reptilian Brain, Mammalian Brain and the adult thinking brain, the neocortex.  Why?  Because some of our seemingly odd reactions are all down to evolution.

            I explain about the amygdala and how it is often to blame for our fears.

            We function on many levels - conscious, subconscious  and unconscious thoughts and beliefs. 

            We delve into the storage systems in our brain where convincing untruths and cognitive labelling lurk but where we can use balancing statements to make them less of a pest.

            Also in this module we work on self-esteem, something we need to bolster in ourselves and those around us.

              Module 6 - Who Are You Today?

              This module takes self-exploration to a new level.  We explore all the roles you adopt in your daily life, the many personas you have within you.  Specifically we explore those personas or parts of you who we need to nurture - both the strong, warrior types and the insecure, wounded versions of you.

              We will have a look at learnt behaviours, both the helpful and unhelpful ones.

              Finally we gather your allies together, those people you admire, respect, want to be like or know you would benefit from having them 'by your side' when you need them.

                Module 7 - Your Strengths & Your Purpose

                In my role as a Life Purpose Coach I help people figure out, well, what their purpose in life is!  When you are working in line with your purpose, life flows, it seems effortless.  There is little resistance and lots of positivity.

                So in this module we do some more self-exploration and personal development.  We have another look at your mindset, fine tuning it further so that you become more aligned with allowing yourself to acknowledge and appreciate your strengths rather than worrying about your non-strengths.

                To really hammer all of this home we are going to put together your very own life purpose statement so you can repeat it to yourself every day, have it printed on a poster, emblazoned on a t-shirt if you want to!

                  Module 8 - Mind Your Language!

                  This module explores the language you use (and others use to you) and how it impacts our thought patterns.  Based on CBT and NLP we look at how reframing your thoughts and spoken words can really help to improve your mindset.

                  We dig around in unhelpful thinking styles, thought patterns, and triggers.

                  We spend some time working on mental rehearsal and visualisation - both very powerful tools to help you live the life of your dreams.

                  Also in this module we revisit the amygdala and have a look at the term neuroplasticity.

                  We will still have unwanted thought processes but I have included two great techniques to help you with this - the STOP technique and the RAIN technique.

                    Module 9 - Body Work

                    It may seem weird to have a section on body work in a brain training guide but trust me, your posture has an impact on your sense of wellbeing so it is important to be more aware of it.

                    We have a run through of Pilates based neutral standing posture, not only will you look great but your body systems can function properly.

                    I have included a lovely relaxing body scan audio file so you can play 'hunt the tension' when you feel a bit stressed.

                      Module 10 - Energy Anatomy

                      We are all comprised of energy.  The world is comprised of energy.  When we are surrounded by stressed and/or negative people their energy bumps up to ours and entrains us making us (if we aren't careful) vibrate at their frequency.

                      In this module we explore the above, looking at resonance, energetic vibrations, and quantum physics.

                      Then we take a flying visit to our energy anatomy: chakras, meridians, energy healing and balancing.  Did you know, for example, that if you don't speak your truth that the throat chakra won't function properly?  And when one chakra isn't swirling as it should that it has a negative impact around the rest of your body?

                        Module 11 - A Very Cunning Plan

                        So now we start to look at bringing all your new-found skills into planning and scheming on your current life and your future life.

                        Using generic life coaching techniques we make sure that when you revisit the work you did at the start of the course that it lines up with your true self.  No limiting beliefs, no false-self sneaking in to doubt you can do it - in other words making sure you know and are being true to yourself as you move forwards.

                        We check in with your vision board again, and your current life.

                        To really make 100% sure you succeed we go over the flaws of planning from a sense of lack or urgency and explore our basic fears so that you are armed with all the tools, techniques and tips you require to move forwards with gusto!

                          Module 12 - Managing Your Workload

                          So now we get into the nitty gritty of actually putting your life in order - current and future versions.

                          We have a look at mantras you can repeat to yourself to keep you motivated, how gratitude is as powerful a tool as any other you have learnt in this course.

                          In line with the 'mind your language' module I remind you about the dreaded words - should, have (to), must and need and how they will more than likely prevent you doing stuff than help.

                          Then actually planning and which formats may work for you.  All backed up with some more visualisation work.

                            Module 13 - Planning With Purpose

                            As we near the end of the course we make sure that you are including all of your new skills to keep the 'project' moving forward.

                            We check in that you are planning with your purpose and strengths at the fore.  You aren't working alone, you have your entire tribe of personas and allies there to help you -  if you remember to keep them involved that is!

                            With a spot of reflection we can look back at everything you have done in the past and see how it is helping you now, or will help you.  Nothing happened that shouldn't have to help you get to this point, even the tough stuff.  It is all about how you view past events which we touch on here.

                            So with that hefty dose of Positive  Psychology we explore The Hero's Journey, paying attention to which members of your tribe react along the way.  Knowledge is power.

                              Module 14 - Pulling It All Together

                              The last module but certainly not the end of your adventure!

                              We go back over your vision board, planning techniques, mindset and focus.

                              I fire you up with some mantras to repeat to yourself every day, and invite you to create your own.  Also, to visualise your life as you want it.  Both of these things will empower you, I promise.

                              We have a quick run through of the brain training you have done throughout the course so that when you stumble, which you will, you know how to pick yourself up and dust yourself off.
